Flower Power Birthday

Good morning Stampers!

Many of you were probably up before this card was posted! I hope you had a productive Black Friday and were able to purchase all those items you had on your list to get to the stores early!
I can tell you that I did not go out. I try to stay out of the way of you who are so determined!
My turn will come when my son is another year or two older. I will get to experience the "have to find that toy he has his heart set on". I cooked yesterday's Thanksgiving dinner, so this is my day to just kick back, for a little bit. School still goes on!

I made this background from the Flower Power set a while ago. It was just lying around, so I had an idea.

What I used:

SU! Sets: Flower Power, Lots of Notes - SAB '08

SU! Cardstock: Riding hood red, white.

SU! Ink: Baja breeze, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Riding hood red.

Other: Spellbinder dies - circle and scallop; Green layer of cardstock is Crate Paper - scrapbook paper. It was sitting on my table and since I have a hard time throwing things away...it got taped and adhered. It really was a painless process for the Crate paper - LOL.

Happy Stamping! And enjoy those leftovers if you were fortunate enough to get some!

Happy Thanksgiving

Good morning Stampers!

This is a card I actually did a couple years ago for a group. I meant to send them out last year, but time got away from me. I like to get cards out before the holiday, and for those who live in another state I want to send them out at least one week ahead of time. Well, it did not happen again this year. They were not sent out until Thursday of last week. I have several of these travelling to New York, so I told myself that it was okay if they received them the day or two after Thanksgiving. Better late than not at all. They wouldn't know I was thinking of them then.
Another super simple card. This was made using a retired set..and now I cannot think of it. I did not part with it for many years after it retired, but then looked at my shelves and decided I needed to thin out the sets.
I used the Kaleidoscope pad that SU! used to sell. I also used raffia ribbon to tie around the leaf.
The "Happy Thanksgiving" was typed on the computer using the SU! CD disc. I like the fact that I can come up with my own sayings if I want.
I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving!

Let it Snow

Good morning Stampers!

I was inspired to make this card after our snowfall. After I left school to drive home Thursday night, I went from 50 mph down to 30 mph as I drove south! One would have thought the north would have been worse with the lake effect and all, but contre (or however the french spell this), the south was worse.

This is a super simple card. My brain cannot come up with anything other than that right now. You can expect simple cards from me for a while. I have a short break during Thanksgiving, but it isn't much of a break as I have projects to work on. Since Thanksgiving is late this year, instead of three weeks left of school, there are only two. Which means one week of classes, and the second week is finals week.

Colors I used: Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue and white - cardstock and inks.
I printed the "let it snow" on my computer using the Stampin' Up! font CD disc.
The background paper is from the swap I did with my friend, which increased my choices of DSP! It is not SU! DSP, but some that I needed to use.
I used the Spellbinders square and scallop dies.
The blue grosgrain ribbon actually does match the DSP, but for some reason it doesn't look like it in the picture.
I hope you all stayed warm over the weekend! We enjoyed our fireplace!

Deer Friends Gift Card Tag

Good morning Stampers!

Another item from my Jan's care package. The stamp used is from Deer Friends - Hostess level 2. You can see the Scallop punch was used as well as the 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 punch for layering. Also, the Designer Series Paper - Ski Slope was used in the background. Love the Ski Slope DSP!
I highly recommend it because all the papers in this set are gorgeous!

When you open the tag...this is where you can put your gift card for giving!

I hope you all had a good weekend! Now it is back to the grindstone, but at least it is a short week. Four for some, three days for others. Enjoy!

Happy Stamping!

Happy Thanksgiving

Good morning Stampers!

I have another card to share that I received from my upline Jan in her care package to me.
I forget sometimes how simple a card can look. I like the monotone look they used. The harvest stamp in chocolate chip on kraft paper. Then Designer series paper punched using the scallop punch, verse in 1 1/4 punch and choc chip in 1 3/8 punch. All to give it a layered effect. I think it is nicely done. You can still get make some quick Thanksgiving cards and send them out. That is what I will be doing today!

Happy Stamping!

Season of Friendship

Good morning stampers!

Thought I forgot about you did you? Nope, no way. My friend commented to me the other day, "you said on your blog that we would 'see' you on Wednesday". Well, today is Wednesday - technically not a week ago Wednesday, but Wednesday none the less. I am in the last four weeks of school and it is just crunch time. Thankfully for me, my upline Jan sent me a care package and I am going to share what she sent to me.

I thought today's card was appropriate. The tree and snowflake is from the set Season of Friendship found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I like all the colors that were used. I like the Designer Series Paper and how they tied in the Kiwi Kiss ribbon color to bring out the color in the Designer Series paper.

It is a very simple, quick, and cute card.

I like it.

Where have I been?!

Hello everyone,

I have friends that remind me that I have not posted in a while, like since October 17th - horrors. I know you have heard this before, but it isn't like I don't want to post anything. I have the need to create! School has been the big factor. It is the last five weeks of the semester and it is crunch time. It feels like I am having a baby because I am counting my life out in weeks!

Hard to believe this semester will be over in five weeks. I am actually looking for it to be over because that means I finished all the assignments, and I am ready to begin studying something new. Now, next semester does not sound like all that fun with the subjects I have to take - because they are all core classes - but it must be done!

So, my goal this weekend is to get down to the stamp room, clean off the table top, stamp - as I need to get ready for stamp camp!, and post a card.

I also have to budget time to get the studies in as well.

So..off I go. And a big Thank you for sticking in there with me. I know once the semester is done, I will be able to do some stamping regularly again!

Take care! and Happy Stamping!
