Good morning Stampers!
I wanted to let you know that the semester has begun and that means once again my postings will become erratic. I wish I could say when I would be posting but I cannot.
This would be a great time to sign up to receive e-mail notices when I have posted. You will find that midway down on the left hand side.
Thanks for stopping by!

Repurposing
Good morning Stampers!
In my last post - Heartfelt Thanks - I used the word "repurpose". This word is not one I came up on my own, but from a fellow stamper and papercrafter. "Repurposing" is when you use an item other than what it was originally made for. So the fabric glitter writer was made to be used on fabric. I then used it as an adhesive on my cardstock. I thought of it as this..it is made to go on fabric (durable and it has to adhere) and it is made to go through the wash (so the H2O)content was going to be low (couldn't be water soluble since fabric can be washed).
Okay, now for all that scrapbook paper I have. Let's face it..scrapbook paper can become outdated. And if you are like me, you have some that you have had so long that you know it is outdated! Here are some ideas that I have heard over time.
1. Trade with a friend - she may think of the "perfect project" to use it for.
2. Donate it - church, daycare, school, etc.
3. Wrap a small gift in it.
4. Make an envelope out of it to send your handmade card in.
5. Make an origami box out of it to put a small gift in.
6. Use it on your stamp table as a surface to work on. Keeps your area clean and
you feel less guilty tossing it out afterwards.
7. On the flip side of the patterned paper there is one of three things:
a. White - your basic
b. A coordinating color to the patterned sheet on the flip side
c. Another pattern that coordinates to the flip side
You can use the white or the coordinating color as a layer. The layers don't
always have to be cardstock weight.
In my Heartfelt Thanks posting, I mentioned the brown layer was from a flip side
of patterned paper I did not like. It did coordinate with the pattern paper I
was using.
8. Starter paper for a fire :)
I am sure there are other "repurpose" items out there that I have yet to think of.
I would enjoy hearing about any times you have "repurposed".
Thanks for stopping by.

No posts this week
Good afternoon Stampers!
I wanted to let you know that I will not get the chance to post any cards this week. I have two projects due and that means burning the midnight oil - unfortunately not to make cards.
I can tell you that I am getting a sneak peek to the 2009 Spring Idea book & catalog, hostess sets and Sale-a-bration mini catalog. Unfortunately, EVERY demonstrator is trying to get their sneak peek in so the website is running slow, or phoning in about the sold out Extravaganza bundles. Some of the bundles sold out quicker than I could blink. Today is the last day to order any of the Holiday Extravaganza bundles. I have already attempted to speak with a SU! representative regarding the Curly Label Punch bundle, but that is a hold of at least 10 minutes. - today.
As I learn things, I will post a comment.
Have a good week everyone!

Where have I been?!
Hello everyone,
I have friends that remind me that I have not posted in a while, like since October 17th - horrors. I know you have heard this before, but it isn't like I don't want to post anything. I have the need to create! School has been the big factor. It is the last five weeks of the semester and it is crunch time. It feels like I am having a baby because I am counting my life out in weeks!
Hard to believe this semester will be over in five weeks. I am actually looking for it to be over because that means I finished all the assignments, and I am ready to begin studying something new. Now, next semester does not sound like all that fun with the subjects I have to take - because they are all core classes - but it must be done!
So, my goal this weekend is to get down to the stamp room, clean off the table top, stamp - as I need to get ready for stamp camp!, and post a card.
I also have to budget time to get the studies in as well.
So..off I go. And a big Thank you for sticking in there with me. I know once the semester is done, I will be able to do some stamping regularly again!
Take care! and Happy Stamping!

Where have I been?
Good morning Stampers!
Been wondering where I have been? Some of you have asked - and I appreciate the concern!
Remember two weeks ago when we had that high wind storm. Winds reaching 50MPH? I sure do! I watched healthy limbs get blown off their tree and hit my house power lines. Fortunately the lines did not come down with the beating they took!
Then I went out - yes, I went out into the windstorm - and pulled three large limbs out of the street. (I can see how twigs can be impaled with such force that it can go through a telephone pole!) Not at the same time, but as the storm went on - sounds like a soap opera doesn't it? Well, it becomes that way I feel. You see, I couldn't leave the limbs in the street because they were blocking the road. I live in an older neighborhood, and I wanted my neighbors to be able to get out. There was no way they were going to get out of their car and pull the limbs aside. If they could, I want to know their cereal brand as that would be a great endorsement.
Well, I hmm-hawed and thought about abandoning ship and go to my in-laws. They still had power until 9:00 p.m. that night. We lost ours at 6:30 p.m. just as they were leaving our house from having dinner with us. We stayed the night here and Monday night. I was sure the power was going to be back on in a day. No way! It was out all week. I was behind on my readings and I needed the Internet for school. We packed up and went to my parents - their power came back on in less than 12 hours. It was like we were on vacation! (with the exception of the Internet - it was going in and out with the cable) I think my husband was sad we had to go back to our house at the end of the week! Finally power was restored at the end of last week! Amazing how dependent we are on electricity. It also humbled us because we were displaced for a week, can't imagine what Texas and surrounding areas are dealing with.
Okay, so I went to the basement on Saturday. I am still catching up with my readings, but I thought I could make a card while the dryer was finishing. It beat me, so I folded laundry and went back upstairs. This morning I woke up with an earache. Woke out of a dead sleep. This year I was not fooling around with it. I went to Statcare. Yep, they confirmed what I already knew. Ear infection. Got the antibiotics and nasal spray. I knew exactly what I needed and let the doctor know. After two years of this, I know the signs and solutions! By 2:00 p.m. it progressed to bilateral ear infections. Now, let me tell you what the advantages are. You know the disadvantages - ear pain. The positives...my husband said that our son had a "poopy" diaper. I could not smell a thing! Nope - he still smelled like roses to me and he would have continued until he took his bath last night! Another positive..those temper tantrums just aren't as loud as they were before! Since I am currently potty training him, temper tantrums are a frequent occurrence in the house. You know, about every couple of hours (or less if my husband smells him :)) There is one positive for my son. I am beginning to get laryngitis, so raising my voice is not so loud right now.
So, there will be no posting of pictures this week. Another thing going on...I have stamp camp this weekend, so I will be getting ready for that as well.
Surmise to say, it has been a bad two weeks. I really am hoping that I get to my stamp room soon. I am having withdraws and that adds to my crankiness.
I hope this finds all of you healthy and stamping!
See you next week.

Bad Blogger
Good morning Stampers!
How have you all been? Wondering where I have been, what I have been doing and overall where the heck I have been? Me too! All I can say is that I am a bad blogger. No other name for it, and no other name I will state :). I hope in the next day or two to tell you what has been going on. A bit harried and overwhelming at my end. I am still trying to catch up with myself. I think I might have a schedule made up to accomodate my new harried and overwhelmingness and once I let you in on it I think you will understand and have a bit more compassion and understanding for me, or at least I hope you do.
I don't have a card post for you today, but I can say that I am working on a stamp camp for this Saturday. You know what that means...card posting can be erratic at that.
I do have a suggestion though. Visit my friend's blog - Rubbah Lovin' Fool She has been creatively lately and is trying some new things. Oh, do one thing for me. Leave her a comment at the end of her post and state she needs to change the picture of herself. She is better looking than the one she has posted and needs to get a picture of herself on her blog. Thanks for doing that!
Okay, back to what I need to get done. I will have something for you Wednesday.
Thanks for stopping by!

I am still here
Good morning Stampers!
I know it has been several days since I have posted anything. I wanted to let you know that I am still around. For the past couple of days I have had orientation. And last night the family went out to celebrate our wedding anniversary. No sitter, my son went with us. I thought he did well for eating out at a noisy restaurant, but that might have been the best place as he did not always speak quietly! Of course I could only get him to eat french fries! It is frustrating trying to get a child to eat a variety of things. I am headed off to orientation again today. This is my last day of it - that I am aware of. I have not had a chance to check my e-mail and respond, so please bear with me. I am almost afraid to say this, but when I get home tonight I hope to be able to stamp a little.

Customer Open House
Good Morning Stampers!
I have been getting ready for today...my Customer Appreciation/Open House. It is all set up and ready to go. Okay, still have to mix up the refreshments.
Another reason I have not posted is that the Podiatrist decided he was not done having some fun with my foot. A month ago I posted about my foot...well, again I get to experience a shard of glass in the bottom of my foot. I don't have a piece of shard of glass in my foot, but it sure feels like it. So, it has not been much fun walking around and standing. So retrieving materials to make a card has not been on the top of my list of things to do. Although I want to make a card.
I have had a peek at the Mini Catalog that SU! is coming out with. All I can say is YAHOO! More Designer Series Paper, Ribbon, stamps, FELT SNOWLFLAKES, and MORE.
I look forward to you getting a chance to see it.
Thanks for looking! I will be back with a card posting.

Able to add "labels"
Hello Stampers!
I am very happy to have signed in to my blog and find out that I can add "labels" to my sidebar. When you scroll down on the right side, you will see a small title "labels". Under that you will see the different ways I have saved my posts. I could not go that before and I was trying to figure out how to add a "categories" to the sidebar.
I hope the "labels" category will make it easier to find things! Maybe someday I can add "videos" to the sidebar.
I will have a card post for you very soon. I have been working on one.

Little unknown fact..
Good morning Stampers!
Did you know that I had a Board of Directors for my blog? Yep, it is a little unknown fact. Sometimes they post comments to the blog and sometimes it is behind the scenes....
The Board of Directors is there to protect you and me. How you ask? Well, let me give you an example. For several posts, I was using a flower pick, arranger, or whatever it is called, to hold up my cards in pictures. My BoD said that when they clicked on the picture to make it bigger - Yowsa! Offensive to the stamper's eyes. My BoD advised me to do one of two things. Of course, my BoD had a few suggestions. (I think that is nice - when you state a problem, have a solution to propose, and they had two!) BoD offered these two solutions, 1. Lose the flower pick, or 2. Clean it up.
Now, you may be wondering how the BoD is protecting my interest, after all you know how they are protecting yours (advisement of removing offensive looking things to stampers eyes....) I want my stampers to keep coming back to see what is happening on INKnovations. If the flower pick/arranger is unpleasant to the eyes..then you may decide to not come back. I would lose the purpose of this blog. I know, it may sound extreme but the flower pick is going to get a makeover if it wants to keep its job onscreen.
So, here's to you BoD! You know who you are. Who knows..maybe you can become a BoD. Just be aware..they are brutally honest. That's why I love them :)

Alas, to my dismay..
Good morning Stampers!
It is sad to say, but the stress of the week has caught up to me. I thought I would be able to post something, but I have run out of time. Tomorrow night is the women's group I am providing the two birthday cards for them to complete. By the time I get home (9:00 PM) I will have to get ready for work the next day. The next day is when I leave for vacation after work. I still have laundry to finish, pack and gather some things together. I was hoping the chance to get some stamping stuff together to take, but I am coming to the realization that I won't have time for that. I am taking the computer to hopefully clean up some files - some that have been there for years!
So, just to let you know...there will be no postings until the first week of August. I thought I would be upfront about that. Please come back the beginning of August and check things out.
On a non-stamping related topic. I witnessed something very disturbing to me. I was coming out of the credit union when I heard a man yelling. I looked out and he was driving his car on a busy main street. Now, you know he had to be loud for me to hear him. The woman in the car was getting out - thankfully he stopped to let her out. He yelled some more - couldn't hear what he was saying - and then drove off to the next side street. She was walking. I did not see him hit her, just yell - which is bad enough. So here is my comment. If any of you are in an abusive relationship - verbal, physical and/or mental - please, please, please find help. You are worth more than being someone's punching bag. Enough said.
Have a good week Stampers! I will see you soon.

Retired Accessory list at Stampin' Up
Good morning Stampers!
If you haven't already been there, go to www.stampinup.com and look at the retirement accessory list. There will be a link to a list. Don't be surprised. It is a short list and fits on one sheet of paper! I did not see any punches on the retirement list, which made me very happy!
It truly bothers me that I have no card to post here. It isn't that I don't want to stamp and post something. I have ideas and enthusiasm for that! Today, I waited all day for the "Brown Guy" to deliver my box of goodies. Unfortunately, I'm still on the end of his route...how do I get that changed??? I am sad to announce that EVERYTHING is still in its original packaging - HORROR, I know and I think I heard some audible gasps - can't blame you there.
This week I have way too much on my plate. Have you ever had a week like that? I have several deadlines and I have these weeks every so often. I go out of my mind trying to juggle everything.
Here is what is going on:
I have a deadline with a couple's bridal shower - design is done, it is just stamping and assembly. Finish that on my vacation.
A women's group that I am to hostess and provide the "guts" for making two birthday cards - done and ready to go, but I need to get the Hostess items together.
A BIG deadline for work.
Get the family together to go on our FIRST week long vacation. Fortunately I have a house & dog sitter already lined up!
Oh - my son now has specific Thomas the Tank Engine episodes he wants to watch, and I am clueless as to what ones they are!
Okay, I think that is enough of that. I am going to do my best to post this week before leaving and then having nothing for a week - wanted to prepare you now. Where I am going, I will have no Internet connections. I will have withdraw as the Internet is my television.
Thanks for being patient with me and checking back!
