Happy Birthday

Hello everyone,

A coworker recently had a birthday, so I am glad I could pull something together quickly. I plan on giving this to her on Monday. The inspiration for this card came from Kristina Werner's Blog. You can see the card here:http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/images/0308/032408-macm2.html Kristina did a survey about whether people prefered their scrapbook paper double sided or not. I voted for double sided - but one side being the pattern and the other side the coordinating color. Takes the guess work out of matching things for me. And there are many times that I need that help!
Have a good week!

Petal Prints

Another day towards getting over the hoarding habit. I picked the ribbon up at Micheal's some time ago. I picked up this pattern of ribbon in differnt colors. I sometimes will pick up ribbon because of the colors used in it. It helps me put colors together and I figured if the colors are pleasing to my eyes, I could use the colors to match cardstock and inks with. I made several of this cards since they were easy to do.

I used the retired Petal Prints, Autumn Leaves - Rhonna Ferrar flourishes,

and Papertrey's - Thanks with appreciation - from the Faux Ribbon set. Inks: Bashful blue, Chocolate chip, Creamy Caramel. I used the small and large window punch from SU! I made a get well card as well.

Found a new color scheme from Real Simple magazine. I will be working on that next -at least that is my plan!

Hey...

I keep wanting to buy those "Thickers" from American Crafts. I have seen projects made with them and I think they look great. Now, this card I case'd from Kristina Werner which can be found here: http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/images/0308/031708-macm2.html.

Instead of purchasing the "Thickers" I used my Cricut Cutter. That was one reason why I bought the cutter - so I would not buy stickers. I have alphabet stamps from SU! so I think I am doing okay with variety. Stay tuned to see if I continue to fight that desire to purchase the "Thickers". I eye them when I go up and down that particular aisle.

I am still working on my hoarding habit. I used prima flowers, a brown brad and this pretty chocolate and pink ribbed ribbon. Here is what else I used: On the Spot background stamp with Close To Cocoa ink. I used the following papers; Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Love me - DSP SU!, and Taken with Teal.

I ran into two people I have not seen in a long time, so I thought I would send a card to let them know it was nice to run into them.
