Daisies

Good morning Stampers!

When I was in my stamp room, my stamping mojo wasn't there with me! Very frustrating since I don't have a lot of free time to stamp, and when I do - I need to be "on".
I had this Daisy scrapbook paper out on my table for the last two weeks. I just stared at it, not doing anything with it.
Since I have no stampin' mojo at the moment, I have no color inspiration mojo either. Bummer for me. I do like the Baja Breeze that is one of the In colors currently through Stampin' Up!
I also used the Stampin' Up! border punch. I wanted to use ribbon, but I could not figure out how I was going to incorporate it so I made 1/4 inch strips of black cardstock and adhered them under the main layer. I used the Tombow white glue for this. It comes in a tube with green lettering. I like it better than the AquaMono, because as the name suggests - it is water based. Not too friendly with paper - it makes the paper buckle. Good for adhering embellishments. Thanks for stopping by!

Saturday Stash - Bookplate

Good morning Stampers!

For this Saturday Stash, I pulled out my bookplates. They were still in the package! I NEEDED to use them - or at least one (wink). I pulled out my SU! Pure Color pencils and played with them a little as well. Since playing a little with the watercolor paper, I have become a little curious about mixing colors together to get a look.
For this card, I made a note card size - great for my saying in the bookplate. In this picture, I wanted to show you how I "tied" the bookplate onto the note card. I knotted on both sides of the bookplate and tucked the ends behind the bookplate.

SU! stamp sets: Embrace Life, In my thoughts
Inks: Black Staz-on
SU! Marker: Basic Black
Cardstock: Barely Banana, White
SU! DSP: Bella Rosa
Other: Bookplate, ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, SU! pure color pencils.

Saturday Stash - Happy Harmony

Good morning Stampers!

I pulled out an old set that I haven't been able to part with yet. This set is from Sell-a-Bration two years ago. The stamp set is called Happy Harmony. I really like the solid image because you can do several things with it. Silhouette images, or solid images, are big in stamping right now! I have a feeling there will be some in the upcoming Idea Book & Catalog. I have seen a sneak peak of two more stamp sets and two large punches. One of the punches works with the one stamp set. I was able to see this in a training video SU! provides to their Demonstrators.

Saturday Stash - Friend

Good morning!

I am late in posting Saturday Stash!
Yesterday, my husband, father and myself added a ramp to our "ultra mini deck". It was a ramp that my dad at his place, but he did not need it anymore, so it came to our place. In between the times he was cutting wood, I spent the time with my "war against the weeds". This time on the other side of the yard. I got quite the workout between the two activities. And once again, became acquainted with muscles that I had forgotten about! I had to warm up to get out of bed, thus the late posting. I have to say though, with pulling up weeds, I found out I have grubs (because I found one!) and I got to show my son a baby toad - very cute! He also had fun visiting with a neighbor and then playing in the mound of dirt with his construction toys.



For today's Saturday Stash, I pulled out some retired SU! Designer series paper. I think they are gorgeous, and I love to work with the SU! DSP because they coordinate to so well. I did not have to guess as to what to use.



I found a card sketch I liked on the web and used that to base the card on. Easy Peasy!

SU! Designer Series Paper (DSP): Sarah - RETIRED
Ink: Staz-on - black.

I wanted to show you on this pic that I added color
over the saying "friend" and around the flower. I also alternated the color dots with the color of the papers. I think it added to the image, so don't worry about adding color to a saying. If you aren't sure, stamp a second one on scraps and see if you like it before you add color to your finished one.

Saturday Stash

For Saturday Stash, I used the K & Co. purse stickers. What I liked about these stickers is that they are three dimensional. I used some retired SU! Designer Series Paper. The only ink I used was SU Basic Black.

You know what size this is.....3x3. I used it as a thank you card for a friend who loves her purses! Hi Shelly!

It can't be seen well, but I made the envelope out of SU! retired Designer Series Paper. I had a lot of this retired DSP lying around, but since I began the Saturday Stash it is dwindling down! And I am a happy stamper because of that.

Saturday Stash - Riibbon

Hello out there in Stampland! Too corny sounding? Okay, I will try and tone it down.

For this week's Saturday Stash I pulled out some delicious ribbon I was hoarding. Yes, ribbon can be delicious. Look at the color and pattern - yum.

Stampin' Up! is promoting an E-scape day this month where they are encouraging everyone to get off the computer and anything else electronic for one day, so you can connect with others - such as making a card for someone. SU!'s sample used my favorite 3x3 size! Perfect size to use up scraps. I have been using these alot lately for thank you's.


I started out with the Bali Breeze DSP (Designer Series Paper) from SU! Love the colors! You can see on the flip side of this pattern paper it is Tempting Turquoise.
I cut the patterned paper at 5 1/2" and scored at 3". I then took my 1 3/8" punch and punched "half a circle" into the patterned paper.
I then punched a 1 3/8" circle out the Tempting Turquoise and Rose Red (one for each card).
I used the Circle of Friendship (get it quick because it is retiring) and stamped it in Tempting Turquoise and Rose Red (one for each card) Punch the circle out with SU! 1" circle punch.
Punch the inner circle with SU! 1/2" circle punch. You can see that I swapped out the 1/2" color circle on each card. The inner circle ink matches the circle base.

In this picture I wanted to show you I used a SU! stampin' dimensional to pop up that 1/2" inner circle.

Then came the search for the ribbon. I cannot tell you where I purchased this ribbon - but it was local. I was thrilled that it matched up so well.
The "pink" ribbon does match the card and the Rose Red color pretty well. I am still learning Photo Shop (older version) and I have not figured that out yet. If anyone can give me a tip on color adjustment - leave me a comment. I welcome it.

Saturday Stash

Hello,

For this Saturday Stash it took me a little longer to make. My son woke up and wanted to eat and get some lovin'. On top of that, I decided to make a tutorial out of the flower punch. I am working on that this weekend - a first. I really want to try making a video, but I haven't gotten there yet.

Okay, but on subject. I had this scrapbook paper, and of course I just had to have it...but can't remember why. Maybe it was for card making. Sounds good to me.

I wanted to add ribbon, and I tried, but it did not look right because of the bird on the right hand side.

As far as the scrapbook paper...I cannot tell you what manufacturer makes it - I have had it cut up for a while now.

Like it a Latte

Good morning! I was hoping to have posted this earlier this morning, but I got home late from work yesterday, company came, and then I was too pooped to pop! So I came down this AM before everyone else was awake and began cutting things up!

Now, Saturday Stash...I used things I have had laying around here - yes, hoarding my stash.

When I hoard my stash..no one enjoys it. It just sits around and with time two things happen..

1. You get tired of it, and the excitement of first acquiring it will drop off.

2. It becomes outdated, and because it gets outdated your enthusiasm for it drops off - see #1.

So...I have come up with "Use your Stash Saturday" or "Saturday Stash".

I have had these note cards since last Sell-a-Bration. I hoarded them and thought how could I use them...I can't get them anymore. We know that isn't true. They are the Pocket Notes found on page 167 of the current Stampin' Up! catalog. Granted I can't get them in the same colors, but I can get them. So I move on!

Just a side note... sometimes I am not the brightest crayon in the box! For example, my coworker was instructing me about a lens on her camera - which is like the one I have. I watched her manually zoom the camera in on the object. I didn't know I could manually zoom in on an object in the automatic mode. I thought you could only zoom in on the manual mode. UGGHH! I have been enlightened.
